The EnTIRE Mission

Our near-term goals are to develop new tools to support researchers (1) to capture more of what takes place in authentic moments of inquiry, and (2) to analyze qualitative data on large scales. The technologies we create will support research at large scales that focuses on dynamics at small scales.

Our long-term goals are to adapt the technologies we develop for researchers into a tools for educators—superintendents and principles, departments of education, deans and provosts—to support their assessing what students are learning in their schools and school systems.

We envision a suite of Instruments for Secure Investigation of Teaching and Learning (InSITe), an integrated system of hardware and software for the acquisition, storage, and analysis of disparate streams of data to study creativity and critical thinking across diverse groups of learners over extended periods of time.
